In light of Black History Month, we wanted to take a special moment to highlight the Black-owned brands we carry here at Gotham. Even with the legalization of cannabis across many states in the U.S., there remains a stark disparity between the number of Black people arrested and incarcerated over cannabis related charges. Simultaneously, the number of Black-owned cannabis brands pales in comparison to their white counterparts in an industry that has been built and upheld by people of color. This blog post is by no means enough to make a difference on the greater socioeconomic issues that are at the root of that, but if you take the time to shop with us, we implore you to check out and support the Black-owned brands that we carry.
