Black History Month

Shop Black-Owned @ Gotham

January 30, 2026

Take a moment to read up on and support the Black-owned brands we carry here at Gotham.

In light of Black History Month, we wanted to take a special moment to highlight the Black-owned brands we carry here at Gotham. Even with the legalization of cannabis across many states in the U.S., there remains a stark disparity between the number of Black people arrested and incarcerated over cannabis related charges. Simultaneously, the number of Black-owned cannabis brands pales in comparison to their white counterparts in an industry that has been built and upheld by people of color. This blog post is by no means enough to make a difference on the greater socioeconomic issues that are at the root of that, but if you take the time to shop with us, we implore you to check out and support the Black-owned brands that we carry. Not only this month, but all year round.

Söze

SÖZE is a Black-owned, New York-born cannabis brand crafting premium live resin infused pre-rolls for those who grind with purpose. Built by and for underdogs, SÖZE delivers rich flavor, clean highs, and a smooth burn, all without compromising on quality or authenticity.

La Boticá

Founded by Afro-Dominican artist and perfumer Dawn Marie West, La Boticá is a luxury fragrance house blending ancestral Dominican ingredients with contemporary artistry. Each small-batch creation honors cultural storytelling, sustainable craft, and scent as a form of fine art.

Foy

Founded by brothers Yon and Moose Haile, Foy is a Black-owned cannabis brand rooted in purpose, balance, and community impact. Known for clean, functional cannabis products, Foy focuses on helping people find clarity and care in their everyday routines, all while giving back to social causes along the way.

Deri Dori

Straight out of NYC, Deri Dori is an indie streetwear brand redefining sustainable fashion through upcycled denim. Every piece is rebuilt by hand using reclaimed denim, giving old materials a fresh life and a bold new attitude. No mass production, just authentic, small-batch craftsmanship. Because each garment is created from unique denim sources, no two pieces are exactly alike. Subtle variations in size, wash, fade, stitching, and embroidery are what make every Deri Dori item truly one-of-a-kind.

Sunday Cannabis

Sunday Cannabis is a premium cannabis brand rooted in quality, authenticity, and a deep connection to the New York cannabis community. Grown with care near Kenmore, NY, Sunday Cannabis delivers mixed light flower with optimal flavor and smoothness. Proudly black-owned, woman-owned, and queer-owned, they believe that every day should feel like Sunday – because Sundays are for you.

SANCTUAIRE

Founded by Courtney Arrington-Baldwin, a civil engineer turned wellness entrepreneur, Sanctuaire was created out of a belief that wellness must be intentionally built. Every Sanctuaire candle begins with beeswax, which releases negative ions as it burns that help cleanse the air to support clarity and calm.

STAYME7O

Founded by Carmelo Anthony, STAYME7O is a Black-owned cannabis brand rooted in New York and built around elevating the cannabis experience through culture, quality, and social equity. Named for Anthony’s mantra “stay mellow,” the brand centers community empowerment and meaningful opportunity.

Reisfields

Founded in Brooklyn by Reis Chester, Reisfields is a Black- and queer-owned lifestyle design lab creating hand-poured soy candles and botanical self-care blends. Rooted in design, nature, and ritual, each small-batch product is thoughtfully made to elevate everyday moments with intention and care.

Weekenders

Weekenders is a Black- and woman-owned cannabis brand crafting beautifully packaged pre-rolls with outdoor-grown flower from small, sustainable farms. Designed for ease and escape, the brand offers thoughtfully curated experiences, from bright, euphoric blends to calming, nighttime-ready options.

Unifrom

Founded in Stockholm by Haisam Mohammed, Unifrom is a Black-owned fragrance brand inspired by the shared scents of diaspora and everyday life. Using vegan, alcohol-free perfume oils, each scent explores memory, identity, and cultural connection through a deeply personal lens.

Chef For Higher

Chef for Higher is New York’s first culinary cannabis brand, founded and cultivated in NY to normalize cannabinoids through food. Offering infused honeys and cooking oils, the brand uses flavor and function to make cannabis an intentional, everyday ingredient for holistic well-being.

Marley Natural

Inspired by Bob Marley’s legacy, Marley Natural reframes cannabis as ritual, not taboo. The brand is known for beautifully designed accessories that emphasize craftsmanship, sustainability, and respect for the plant, bringing cannabis into the mainstream with intention & elegance.
