The Mezz at Gotham Bowery proudly presents Horizon Dub, the latest exhibition from acclaimed multimedia artist Adee Roberson. Known for her work exploring Black diasporic movement, ancestral memory, and rhythmic storytelling, Roberson transforms space into an immersive, sensorial experience.

Rooted in themes of history, spirit, and sound, Horizon Dub blends paintings, composited photography, and melodic compositions to create a visual and sonic landscape. Roberson’s work weaves together photographic archives, bold color fields, and abstract textures, offering viewers a portal into a refracted timeline of movement and memory.

Her impressive body of work has been exhibited at MOCA Los Angeles, The Hammer Museum, Palm Springs Art Museum, and the Contemporary Art Center New Orleans. She has held artist residencies at Echo Park Film Center, Treehouse Lagos, and ACRE, and has received prestigious awards, including the New York Foundation for the Arts Cutting Edge Grant and the 2021 Los Angeles Artadia Award.

With Horizon Dub, Roberson continues to remix history through visual rhythm and sonic memory. The title itself nods to dub music’s looping echoes and layered soundscapes—a fitting parallel to her process of reshaping historical narratives. By incorporating familial archives and surreal landscapes, she constructs a space where history is fluid, and time unfolds in waves of color, sound, and texture.

At the opening, Gotham welcomed Roberson’s friends and admirers and others looking to enjoy some art on a chilly Thursday night. Adee Roberson’s Horizon Dub is on display at The Mezz at Gotham Bowery through April 6.
